Отличительной особенностью быстровозводимых зданий является строительство с применением металлокаркаса. Стены таких зданий обычно монтируются из сэндвич-панелей или по технологии полистовой сборки.

Транспак (Transpack) — это сборно-разборный контейнер, который поставляется в разобранном виде и собирается на месте эксплуатации. Эта технология позволяет значительно экономить на транспортных расходах, так как на одном грузовике можно перевезти до десяти контейнеров.

Основным отличием блок-контейнеров от бытовок является возможность возводить из них здания до трех этажей. Поэтому кровля блок-контейнера, в отличие от бытовки, может быть только плоской (она обычно выполняется из стального листа). В то же время блок-контейнер можно использовать в тех же целях, что и бытовку. То есть они являются более универсальными.
